Taking the Pulse of Health Care Reform

2012 begins the ramp-up to full implementation of 2010’s Federal Health Care Reform law. During this session we will review how implementation of the various measures of the law will impact collision repair business owners, operators, and employees.

This session focuses on:
1.
The cost of the reform law's benefit mandates--those now in force and those taking effect by 2014on an employer's health care plan
2. The cost impact to employers of the slew of fees and taxes imposed on health insurers, drug manufacturers and health plan claim administrators
3. The cost impact of 2014's employer "play or pay" mandate on employment-based group coverage (and particularly on employers that do not currently offer robust coverage to all full-time employees)
4. Strategies employers may use to minimize potential cost hits under the "play or pay" mandate

The session will also address the pending court challenges to the health reform law's "individual mandate," and the Supreme Court's likely decision with respect to the challenges.
