Brett joined PPG in 1995 after receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh. His first exposure to Lean and process improvement came in 1999 during the total transformation of the Springdale Coatings Plant. During that time, Brett developed a passion for the Toyota Production System and Factory Physics and obtained several certifications in Lean Enterprise and Six Sigma. He moved into the Corporate Enterprise Excellence Group as a Master Lean Catalyst where he trained and mentored PPG businesses globally in the implementation of Lean. Prior to joining PPG’s Automotive Refinish business in 2011, Brett managed the Arvada, Colorado Packaging Ink Plant and received a Gold Recognition Award for the Lean transformation of the facility. He also holds an MBA Essentials certificate from the University of Pittsburgh.

From my perspective
There is no process problem that cannot be solved through teamwork and focused effort, the foundation of Lean Enterprise. Businesses that wait to change until there is a need to change will surely find that to be too late.
